Hello, All.

What a pleasure it is to have found your forum.

My interest is in long range precision shooting. I am a geek and really love all the physics involved in it. I have studied all theory I could get my hands on over the last nine months, and have watched all 102 videos by TiborasaurusRex (the Sniper101 YouTube video series); and that was awesome!

My rifle experience is currently limited by shooting a .22 at my shooting club. I own no rifle at the moment, but am going through the information gathering and preparation process to apply for my licence in Scotland. In order to apply for it, I would need to have decided what rifle I want, and for that, I would firstly need to decide which bullet type I need.

The purpose of me being here is to see if I can gather enough information to help me architect my weapon system, and I hope to be able to contribute to the forum in the near future, whenever I feel a bit more confident about my knowledge.

If anyone in Scotland would like to chat up to exchange information, please do get in touch: I am knowledge-thirsty. <^_^>

Cheers,

Sub0.

Welcome to the forum.
I've distilled my shooting down to muzzle blast and noise. I let the physics go and I'm just shooting one gun and one bullet at a time.
The faster I go, the older I get.

Hi Sub0 .... welcome to FBUK!

I've got my shooting down to a fine art, too; at least up to the point where it goes BANG ....... after that, anything can happen.

Thanks, @Les1066 - yeah, I heard that wind makes the whole thing much more difficult, and I can imagine why.

1mph of wind at right angles to your shooting position will move the bullet 10 inches laterally at 1000 yards..!! Then again, I've shot club rifles that will move the bullet by the same amount at 25m indoors...!!!  ;)
Happiness is like peeing your pants. Everyone can see it, but only you can feel the warmth...

Case in point, I just bought a CZ 52 pistol I'm 7.63x25mm. The flash trails the bullet 6 inches from the muzzle and it's loud. I need thing to add light to my life. I'm now reloading 44 magnum. It's something to do.

LOL... I feel you... specially when people mess up with the club's scope, and I have to waste a few shots just to zero it back to target.
