Dante

Postby nathanhutchison » Sat Apr 21, 2012 9:23 pm

After a few months of waiting, I finally got to pick my new companion from a litter of Italian Spinones.
I do already have a dog but, at best, his abillity as a worker is patchy and he is now filling the role of Pet :)

So based on various points i have picked this lad

He is almost 5 weeks old with a great pedigree and temprament to boot (so far) He has already displayed signs of pointing  So I will be spending every spare moment with him over the next 18 months and he will hopefully become a full time shooting companion

Ive had dan for a week now and he is by far the most intelligent dog that I have met
He already knows his name, asks out for the toilet (only peed 3 times inside including through the night!) and sits on command.
He will fetch a ball and bring it back 6 times out of 10 and points at the tv!!! Looks like all i have to do is nurture this behavour.

My favourite thing about him is the loyalty he has already got for me, he only wants to be fussed by me and doesnt bother about other folk (compared to my older dog who is, bassically, an attention whore)

So hopefully Dan is worth the money and will earn his keep as he gets older

Dogs are carnivores which naturally enjoy hunting, killing and eating food. They aren't shy of meat acquisition in any form. If you think otherwise you've never owned one...

Dan has, at 8 weeks old, shown the killing instinct that all dogs have (even the veg gorged, under-exercised poodles that you folk keep have it)
I dont think he will be that emotionaly moved by shooting as it beats his method of shaking thing to death in the humane stakes.

Oh good another veggie to extract the michael out of all the fun of the fair.

Give the dog the choice of meat or veg I do not know of any dog that would go veggie
