itchy dog help

Postby stephen ingham » Sun Jan 19, 2014 7:59 pm

Hi all i have a 6 year old working yellow lab who seems to itch a lot, not only that but his belly area where there is nearly no fur looks quite pinky in colour.
I have tried changing his food to a type suitable for sensitive dogs but with no change

I have another slightly younger lab who eats exactly the same stuff etc and he is fine...

Can anyone suggest what the problem may be please?

My dad's cocker spaniel has a similar pink ' rash' and it's an infection from staying or being frequently wet. It's treatable but I would talk to your vet as it's uncomfortable for the dog. If it's the same thing ...

Hi, thanks for the reply.
That would kind of make sense i guess, but how come my other lab does suffer from it too, he does the same stuff?

The eldest is due to see the vet in March for his annual check up and jabs, maybe i will try and move it forward a bit and get him checked out.

Cheers
Stephen
