Clumber Spaniel 18 weeks old needs new home

Hi, we wanted to post this on a shooting forum in case anyone is looking for a new working dog.

Due to no fault of his own our 18 week old clumber spaniel puppy, Mac, needs a new and forever home.

The clumber spaniel is one of the larger spaniel breeds and is less energetic and than other spaniels types.

Mac is now 18 weeks old and weighs 12kg. He is very playful and loves walks, the outdoors, people, children, dogs, food......just about everything really.

He has had puppy and further training and for his age walks well on the lead, has decent recall and knows commands including 'sit', 'leave', 'drop' etc. He is house and crate trained.

The only reason for rehoming is down to a family illness.

Mac is up to date with flea and worm treatment and his health checks.

We love our dogs and this is a decision we are not taking lightly and will want to check prospective new owners, we are not going to let him go to just anyone. Mac is currently not left alone during the day for periods over 3 hours and he would therefore ideally suit a family with someone with a garden, who loves the outdoors, will take him for long walks and play fetch with him. These dogs make great working dogs too.

Mac does have an umbilical hernia and has not yet been neutered. Our vet has advised that this should be done at the same time (they advised 12 months old) and that it is not causing him a problem.

Please reply or PM if interested.

Thanks, John
