Any mackeral on the go yet?

My boys are keen to get out and see if they've arrived in NE Scotland yet. Anyone heard anything?

They usually arrive in Methil at the end of June just in time for the school holidays.

None down south. Everyone was out yesterday off lymington and the needles off IOW. No mackerel anywhere but they drifted some pouting livebaits and had several nice bass between 5lbs - 7lbs.

Went for a walk with the wife and dogs along Catterline beach tonight. Took the spinning rod with a single lure, more in hope than expectation.
After eating the wife's lovely picnic, I cast the line and caught over 30 mackerel and 5 pollack in under an hour :) Masses of bait-fish to keep them happy - the water was boiling everywhere with mackerel!

They are patchy here on the south east coast of Ireland, and Mackerel have never been so scarce for local fishermen and anglers and here is the reason why,at one stage over 40 boats were fishing off south west Iceland as seen by satelite photos, the boats are from Iceland,Russia,Spain,Portugal,Germany and the faroe islands also there is a law enforcement boat from Germany.
