A useful reminder

Rooting around the net recently I came upon this statement from the then Prime Minister of Turkey, a so called moderate Islamic state. It's worth remembering that this man is no glassy eyed fanatic and is intelligent enough to clamber to the top of his particular heap.

Speaking at Kanal D TV”s Arena program, Turkey's Prime Minister Erdogan commented on the term “moderate Islam”, often used in the West to describe AKP and said, “˜These descriptions are very ugly, it is offensive and an insult to our religion. There is no moderate or immoderate Islam. Islam is Islam and that’s it.”

If you don't have to give up your car because other people commit crimes in their cars, why should I have to give up my firearms because other people commit crimes with their firearms?

I'm sure our beloved politicians will develop selective deafness after that statement.

THere is little worse than extremism... Christian, Islam or whatever form of bigotry takes these saddo's fancy..

Christianity was and can be just as bad as Islam...

As can politics :( Peace is only possible if we teach our children tolerance. In any religion or country.

I see little purpose in teaching children how to tolerate the intolerant.

Power without responsibility is the problem. We should be teaching our kids that.
