Good luck Andy I

Andy had an op yesterday

The good luck part is with a male nurse called Malcome, that's been instructed to give him the full works on his bed bath

Try and cheer the bugger up, now he has his new hip fitted

Did you arrange for the catheter to be fitted?

They're all the rage now.

Perhaps you would like to arrange with Malcome to have the hip fit checked from the inside? The box browney camera inserted in the rectum for a good look at the chassis is good, you can watch in real time on the TV while it's moved around.

The catheter can be checked for fit by putting a camera into the bladder, again you can watch in real time.

Don't ask me how I know these details but I recommend them to Andy.

I thought new hips were only fitted to old people though...Oh it's Andy isn't it!

I asked if they put his foot back on the right way round, when I spoke to him yesterday

If it had been me, I would have written "front" and "back" on my leg in every European language

If Lee is wishing you luck Andy, then it must be serious. I sincerely hope everything works out for the best.

Thank you for your good wishes gentlemen, however tongue-in-cheek.

It appears to me that others have had this operation as they are familiar with the catheter threat. Yes it happened to me after two attempts to empty my bladder, so I had to make a serious attempt... and I was complemented on the result, even if it was the threat of the catheter that spurred me on! :) I'm only glad they didn't demand a solids inspection because I only just managed that yesterday!

The operation was on Monday morning, they had me up and walking on Tuesday, and passed the fitness test and was declared fit to go on Thursday and that afternoon I was duly gone.

My daughter's boyfriend Ryan is a very good chap: he drove me to the pub on Friday evening!

I'm not sure whether it was the residual morphine and maximum doses of tramadol or the beer that helped me sleep that night!

BTW, the bed bath was actually administered by an attractive slim blond called Nicola. ;) :)
