I ordered a reproduction ram rod for a Brown Bess musket from a British firm on August 4, 2018 at a cost of 94.70 pounds. The cost of the ramrod itself was 30 pounds with the remainder the shipping cost to the USA. They company was on holiday and my order wasn't shipped to until sometime after August 23. I hadn't received the ram rod by October and I sent an inquiry as to the srtatus of the ram rod. The company replied that it's probably locked up in Customs. I waited another month or so with no ram rod and after another email the company sent UK postal shipment reference number and said Customs can be slow. It's now January and still no ramrod. I contacted my credit card company to challenge payment for an item that I did not receive and likely never will. The credit card company told me that the qualifying challenge period end three months after purchase. I'm out $130 US, I contacted the British firm one last time and told that I feel that this whole thing is a scam. The claim that they shipped the item and don't know how to otherwise proceed, Needless to say, I will not be ordering anything from them in the future. I don't know if any American company ever "stiffed" you fellows with the Customs scam. It's not a good feeling.
The faster I go, the older I get.
