It has a small seperate lever from the blade as well as the thumb stud on the blade, either only needs a light push to deploy the blade  8-) .

This is not my vid but this is one of the other styles from the range. They do quite a few: http://www2.knifecenter.com/kc_new/store_store.html?usrsearch=smith+and+wesson+black+ops+gen+3

Great solid knives for the money  . You've got to hold onto it when it opens, the safety is used for either keeping the blade closed or seperately from the liner lock, stopping it from unlocking when open.

Sorry for the forum chopping the pictures up . Most forums automatically size the pic but this one crops the side off for some reason.

Of late I prefer spring assisted knives. I work with chemicals and wear protective gloves. When opening chemical bags the spring assisted knife works like a top with a gloved hand . I clip the folded knife to my chemical resistant apron and I can remove and open it easily whenever needed. I try not to play with some of the nastier chemicals but when I do a spring assisted knife makes the job a lot easier.
The faster I go, the older I get.

That is a bit dear.
For the avoidance of doubt, there is no such thing as "American English". There is the English language and there are mistakes.
