The wood was improved for me by a bloke at my rifle club. The metalwork is as original. I understand that the very heavy barrel is quite uncommon. It's a cracking rifle, but the bolt is an almighty pig to get back in if you remove it (which is easy).

Now that IS real gun porn... my most favourite firearm of them all. It's so iconic and surely is the template that so many other makers have copied. It's the only handgun I have ever wanted to own. Thanks for sharing those photos Dave.

Drat, I neglected to take a photo of the gun that was displayed beneath the 1911. It was Browning's one and only prototype of a hammerless 1911. The place was overwhelming. The museum is located in a former Union Pacific train station. It's in a room of 50 feet by 20 feet or so and packed with his work. I didn't know that he made a 37mm cannon that looks like a M2 50 caliber machine gun but only bigger. It's on display there also. These are photo's of his Model 1894 prototype. There are no markings on the gun and it not blued but it's still world class regardless.

VZ.58 Straight pull cools down at the 600m point of Kingsbury range, as testing and evaluation continuesthe VZ.58 continues to put a smile on my face every time.



It also puts out some rather nice fireballs.
