That Smith & Wesson Russian Model 44 is an expensive collector's item and had to cost that fellow several thousand dollars. It's relatively rare and the ammunition is virtually non existant. You would have to handload for it. Nice dramatic show but pure bunk as such an expensive black powder cartridge gun and collector's item is highly unlikely to be used in crime. The criminal would fetch more money on the collector's market when he sold the gun than he would take in any robbery.
