If the pheasant that you shot was not on ground that you have permission for then it is not okay no. You must have permission to be on the land you shoot from AND ensure that the projectile(s) you fire do not enter land you don't have permission on.

If you don't have to give up your car because other people commit crimes in their cars, why should I have to give up my firearms because other people commit crimes with their firearms?

If this is a wind up its prety lame, shooting on ground you dont have permission on is illegal, end of story
