FAC Renewal

Postby Deallad » Wed Jan 03, 2018 6:51 pm

Just got my FAC back after renewal from KENT police.

Must say it was fast, one week after FEO visit.

I thought there was a problem my 30-30 being put onto my open clause, so made a call to licensing branch and was told "if you have an open clause all the guns on your licence are now classed as open clause, it is your responsibility to ensure it is safe to use the calibre in question"

Also they no longer specify VERMIN and use the term ALL LEGAL QUARRY, I guess it saves them time and money, it also means that they cannot be held responsible in the event of an incident.

For the shooter it means its out of the hands of the FEO. An example of this I wanted 22lr for domestic fox control (urban gardens) at very short ranges and the FEO said no, now it's my choice.

My hat off to Kent Police for a speedy service.

That sounds like a win-win for both you and the FEO.

At last some common sense is getting through, well done Kent police
If someone is to be trusted with firearms he should also be trusted to know when and where it is safe to use said firearms
Cheers
