Offensive Weapons Bill

Offensive Weapons Bill
If you shoot .22 at any club that is not home office approved i.e. that operates under section 11.4 of the firearm act, this bill will shut you down unless the firearms you use are on your FAC.
This bill will be the end of all the miniature rifle clubs that are not home office approved
The intention of the bill is to stop the gang scrotes getting hold of firearms and ammunition without the need for ANY paperwork. It will do this. But rather than alter the wording of 11.4 they plan to simply remove it from the firearms act, effectively crippling the majority of uk small bore clubs.
They have been really sneaky by not putting it in the bill itself, instead they have hidden it in an obscure page of amendments. See below.

This bill now contains amendments that include putting Section 2 ammunition onto FAC (shotguns still on S2) and an offence for an under 18 to shoot an air rifle on private property.
DO NOT BELIEVE THAT THEY WILL BE SATISFIED WITH .50 CALS AND A FEW MANULALLY ACTUATED RIFLES!

If you wish to submit a response the deadline is Thurs 13/9/18 at 4 pm although these have been known to close early.

Your submission should be emailed to scrutiny@parliament.uk

I have an 8 page document now to submit as evidence! I will be happy to help anyone who wishes to respond to the bill on any of the sections (firearms, corrosives and/or knives)

It will be interesting to see what happens but as I am reading it the shotgun ammunition part that seems to be attracting attention is the Section 1 ammunition ie. less than 5 shot. So I am interpreting it that sec 1 shotgun ammo needs to be recorded on an FAC and not just sold.
It would make no sense to leave Sec2 shotguns on sec2 and then make ALL shotgun ammunition S1 which is what is being suggested.
I have also seen it suggested (on fb) that they are making reloading components unlawful. Again from my reading it suggests they are making a specific offence to have in your possession items to make ammunition if you do not have a current FAC, which at the moment there isn’t.
Every day you wake up is a good day!

There are far too many MPs and especially Lords that shoot or have a vested interest in shooting that some of those proposals would be almost untenable. Certainly if not untenable would piss off a lot of important people, and put a lot of good people out of jobs....
