Offensive Weapons bill Postponed again

Postby Matt H » Mon Oct 22, 2018 6:38 pm

The offensive weapons bill looks to have been postponed again, to an unknown date.

That means there is more time for sensible amendments, there is now one to try and save lever release although looks like the MARS action is dead.

This does not seem to save MARS actions from the way I read it but should save lever release.
"Clause 30, page 30, line 9, leave out from “rifle” to end of paragraph and insert “,
other than a rifle which is chambered for rim fire cartridges, which ejects an empty
cartridge case using energy which comes (directly or indirectly) from propellant gas and
subsequently chambers a cartridge by mechanical means through the operation of the
firing trigger mechanism alone.”"

The wording and MPs for the high muzzle energy is on that link too. (scroll down to just below 3 or NC8 it now has a fair few names!)
