British Shooting Show

Postby Coldfinger » Tue Feb 19, 2019 12:25 am

I thought that someone would have commented - did nobody go?

My friend travelled the 340 mile return trip to the show, bought a couple of pull-throughs, two pork pies and some cider. Nothing else

I didn't go but he gave me the cider

He's not going again.
"Bit of a Meldrew you, int'cha?" Linegeist

With my luck. if there was an award for most pessimistic man in the UK Id never get nominated....

I stopped going a couple of years ago. The shooting shows are OK if you're looking for tacky tweeds or the latest fashion in green, but other than that it's just a collection of overpriced crap that you can probably find cheaper on the internet.

I like cider. The Bolton Orchards have the best cider in Massachusetts. It tastes and looks like a full body wine without the alcohol. Coincidentally, the Bolton Orchard is only an exit or two up the highway from the Marlboro, Massachusetts gun show. Anything in Massachusetts in the way of a gun show sucks by US standards but cider is well worth the trip.

Probably just as well Dave as alcohol and guns don't mix too well.

I went and quite enjoyed it!
Ordered a Blaser R8 ultimate but have to wait until June for Blaser to start sending them out
Tempted by a few Safari companies and managed to pick up some bullets.
It was my first time at the NEC and I was quite impressed.

I went, £20 cash on the door. All the cash machines close by ran out of money...

Got the 2 pork pies, jellyless, very nice.

Bought 1000 rounds of Eley @ £60-

Crowded, not a lot of stuff I was really interested in and way too many huge optics booths.

Overall 4/10

Roll on the Northern Show, at least I can get a pint there.

There on the Friday, worked the stand and had a look around. Nothing I hadn't seen before. Bought a Mora knife, as every show I go to, must have a skip load of them by now. Interesting to see so many remarks about pies. One stand there was doing some real magic pies, pork and stilton, pork and black pudding, they were great. I only bought a couple for the trip home. If I had known how good they were I'd have bought a dozen.
If you don't have to give up your car because other people commit crimes in their cars, why should I have to give up my firearms because other people commit crimes with their firearms?

I stopped going because it's rubbish, far too much clothing and knives not enough guns
