Smith and Wesson K-38

Postby Calfed » Mon Oct 12, 2015 2:11 am

A few months ago I acquired a K-22 revolver in order to satisfy an interest in 5-screw S&W revolvers.

That may have been a mistake! Now I'm obsessed with getting more 5-screw S&W's. Today I glommed a K-38 at an on-line auction. It looks like it is in pretty good condition and came with a box. The auction pics can tell the tale...

Very nice. I love the 1950's era Smith and Wessons. The built classy revolvers then. Shooting wheel guns is a favorite pastime of mine. Nice find.

Thanks, guys! I'll post better pics when it arrives and the 10-day "cooling off" period has elapsed. I was happy to get this one and it looks in great shape.

Thanks, Flinty. I'm beginning to love the 1950's S&W revolvers too. I've always liked S&W revolvers (probably a holdover from having carried one for many years), but the workmanship on these 1950's era revolvers is amazing.

Ehh...Not the worst of it. I don't expect any sympathy from our British cousins, but only one handgun every 30 days.

My son lives in Nevada...a few hours drive away and he doesn't have to put up with any such crap.

Yeah, Rhode Island has its own crap. I can live with it for now as I still can buy pretty much what I can afford. :) :) :) :)

Finally picked up my K-38 after the "cooling off" period...all matching, as I hoped.

Wow, that's in nice shape considering it's an older gun. Some took care of it. Nice find, now you'll be on the hunt for more 5 screw Smith's,
