Chemically Clean Gasoline...??

Postby Tommo » Thu Oct 22, 2015 1:55 pm

As above.. I need to fit a larger bolt knob and have sourced a Nordik which will do the job. For mounting it says...

"add a small drop of chemically clean gasoline and simply push it onto the knob of the bolt...".

So, what can I use?? Apart from fuel for the mower all I have to hand is Zippo lighter fuel..!!! Any ideas chaps??

well since gasoline is a mix of chemicals by it self so take that away and you're left with air?

Chemically clean mean no other contaminants other than the gasoline that you buy at the pump. I guess that they want the material to volatilize off leaving little residue or gum.

"Chemically clean" gasoline is probably what used to be referred to as "white gas". It had no lead or other additives in it and was mainly used in gasoline stoves, lanterns, etc.

We know "white gas" now as Coleman or "camp" fuel...and it is mainly used in Coleman (and other brand) camping products. I've used it to clean gun and other machine parts.
