I like Harris too. There are better bipods for lots more money but Harris will get you by nicely. Having said that I've used bipods and don't care for them at all. I prefer a rolled up military wool blanket for a rifle rest. I found that a rock solid steel bipod adds weight to the rifle and throws off the balance. I was always fighting with the bipod adjustments so I reverted to the wool blanket.
The faster I go, the older I get.

I like the Harris too, I would go for the 9-13 length.

Replace the screw with pod-loc, it's a lever that replaces the screw, just makes it easier to tighten the swivel

Best fittings sell the pod-loc and it is easy to fit.

Make sure the bi-pod you get is short as possible too. Dont get one of these 18" long ones for range work. You want to be as low as possible.

Did you check the blanket for smallpox? You can't trust the military you know! :)

My wool blanket is grey ex German military. I have two because one is never enough. Still, I've been vaccinated and have the scar to prove it. I do have the Hudson Bay Company blankets and one can never quite trust them given past practices.

Check out precisionrifleblog.com and click on "what the pros use". Many are using a Harris setup. On this same site the moderator builds a custom 6XC and uses a harris bipod with a LaRue QD attachment. I would also throw a couple shooting bags in your car to use as well. That will give you many options if the bipod just isn't loading right. Hope this helps.
