But sill a long way behind 308

The 308 rapidly dieing though in favour of the ballisticly superior 6.5's, even by the milatry.

Same over here.

The 6.5 Creedmoor is red hot right now with the tactical rifle crowd. Even the 6mm Creedmoor is coming on.

I use Savage 12 long range precision rifle that came with 243 Win and 260 Rem. This little bad boy can really kiss asses from 1000 yards with comfort. I mounted SWFA SS HD 5-20x50 30MM tactical rifles scope on it. Truly a reliable rifle.

I don't think that the 308 Win will be passing away anytime soon. This calibre dominates in my club and of 20 centrefire rifles available, only 1 is in 6.5 calibre. Our shooting is conducted from 200 - 600 yards and tbh, the 6.5 doesn't stand out from the crowd. 1000 yards may be a different matter but the 308 Win rapidly dying ... ? Come on!

Since I last posted in this thread the 6.5CM is growing.

the local gun shop stocks both the rifles and the ammunition, there are now 2 guys with rifles in the calibre at the club and more are talking about it.

I am thinking about a 6.5cm barrel for my Accuracy International AXMC being of a switch barrel design changing calibre will be easy

Cant beat 300win mag for a big bang though

I've literally never seen 6.5 creedmoor ammo or rifles for sale in the UK. Or ever seen one in use.

I've done my research and they mostly offer no benefit over 6.5x55.

I honestly think that like 6.8 SPC, 6.5 Grendel and various other calibers they will grow in popularity peak then gradually disappear.

6.5 Creedmoor kicks the .308 ass. The scores on the doors point to this.

There's a guy at my club that's a good, dedicated and competitive shot and he delivers near Team GB F/TR scores 98/100 with his 6.5 Vs 93-94 with his .308

.308 Win dying out? They said that about the 45/70. :die:
If you don't have to give up your car because other people commit crimes in their cars, why should I have to give up my firearms because other people commit crimes with their firearms?

I ain't no paper puncher, mine does the business on walking stuff.
However,my .308 outshoots my mates 6.5x55 (I know this isn't the thread calibre) when we put out some plates in the field.

Hi Bud

Point taken about your use of .308 (I shoot target .308 )

I predict that 6.5 will become the new competition calibre.
