When you think FLOs can't get any worse.

Met someone today who applied for a.223 rifle for vermin, fox, etc. His firearms liaison officer refused him because his base farm was only cleared up to .222!

Oh cruel life for want of a one thousandth of an inch increment. Alas they both use 224 projectiles.

Out of interest, how do .244 bullets perform in a .222?

The 223 (5.56) NATO round was developed from the Remington 222. Other a higher velocity due a slightly longer case in the 223 there's not much difference in the physical dimensions. They both shoot the same exact projectiles and they are all .224 inch diameter. There's only a couple 100 fps muzzle velocity difference between them and often much less. With a 55 grain load the near identical.
