What is it about N frame S&W’s?

Postby Texasproud » Wed Jun 12, 2019 5:32 am

Went out a week ago visit a friend that is a retired LAPD detective he moved to Texas and lives just a few miles from a ranch that I have full access to. He told me he was feeling a bit retro, so it was revolvers only. I dug out a couple of Smith’s
a Model 624 44 Special and a Model 25-9 in .45 Colt.

Yeah, i love my Model 28. It's a great shooter. I'll let you use it should you ever stop by. The N Frames are great classic firearms. I prefer pinned and rebated. It's the only way to go. I love shooting them in 357.

Just as nice as this... :cheese:

P1060422.JPG
TAURUS .357Mag model 669. Six shot, 6" barrel.

P1060423.JPG
Very nice, tight action, just need some 'paint' on the front sight.

Happy days..

NOTE: compare the revolvers.. apart from the Taurus having the full underlug, there's little difference as Taurus and S&W are part of the same company and S&W provided design info etc to Taurus..!! Go figure..

Note the hammer on my Taurus. It's flat. About 7mm wide and 14mm long, it's the target version, as is the matching trigger. Shoots like a dream.

So, are you reloading 357's and 38's?

Nice

Indeed... and the best part is that the guy I bought it off, tried to convince me it was a model 66..!!, and swore the hammer and trigger were aftermarket additions by a previous owner. I have had confirmation that it is, indeed, a target model, though I have no date for it.. yet. Taurus US can't help so I'm waiting on a response from the company in Brazil.. it might be a long wait.
