I tried the CCI shotshells (with the translucent blue plastic caps) many years ago and found them absolutely useless. The shot was incredibly small, the patterns were all over the place and there was nowhere near enough poke to cycle a semi.

Thanks to Foxy for the prompt delivery - received the shotshells today... AND a complimentary Wildcat baseball cap... cheers Foxy!

Now to find some dirty rats to shoot at!

Tried patterning at a bit of cardboard...

Quite interesting - At 3 metres, the pattern was almost a perfect little 6 pointed star (6 crimps on the brass)

Spread was about 9" at that range. Obviously VERY close up shooting, but would be good for running rats.

Speaking personally the CCI double charge ones with the blue capsule work well for rats in the barns, they wont blow holes in asbestos at ten yards but will turn a coke can into a colander at 6 or so.

They even run most of the time in my 10/22 with the bolt mods.

Expensive way to kill rats but good fun (.357 or .44 capsules are better still)

If you want something between the two the 9mm Rimfire Fiocchi is a rat killer, the original "Garden Gun" calibre.

I used to have a little 9mm Bernadelli 5 shot semi auto in 9mm Flobert, cracking little gun expecially with the bulleted caps, wish I could find another.

Yeh I know, but I wanted something I could chamber into the .22 LR Winchester to save carrying 2 guns.
