.243 calibre

Is the .243 calibre suitable for being accurate for medium to long range shooting (200m-750m) as well as an all round deer/fox calibre? I`m thinking of a rifle with a 1-10 twist.

I don't do target shooting and have only pushed my .243 out to 500, but yes it's accurate to that range and IMHO the perfect all round fox and deer round.
If you plan on doing a lot of Red stags or long range target work then a .270, 7mm or .308 calibre may be a better choice.

No, i doubt i`ll not be doing many red stags.mainly roe.
I`m going to get back into centrefire rifles for the occaisonal shooting trip. There`s a few different types to choose from in this area especially if you get into home loading. But i`m think I`m going to stick with a common calibre while I re-educate myself.

I've got a PAC-NOR barrelled 243 W'by MK5 for sale. Barrel is only a few months old..1-8 Twist. Shoots anything from 70s to 105s nicely.. It's on GT
