Richard Pope's (Swift Precision Rifles) rimfire moderators are excellent for .22LR and .17HMR, and he does a very good airgun version too. He also makes CF moderators, though I haven't tried one.

IMO they're definitely better than a SAK on an HMR, even to the point of coming very close to DM80/Whisper-level performance. On a .22LR, meanwhile, I haven't found anything to beat them.

Cost is around £55, I think, but check with Richard (07739 689 871).

I've got an SPR moderator on my CZ 17HMR. It's stood up to a couple of years of regular use with no problem. I've tried it back-to-back against a SAK and a Parker-Hale moderators and to my ear there was no difference between any of them. No doubt if you tested them with a sound meter, there'd be a difference, but in my opinion not significant.

I do like it though because the profile of the moderator fits very well against the profile of the barrel (varmint), looking like they were made for each other.
