The Land Rover Defender

Got a shooting vehicle or just a run about?

Whilst at local Land Rover Dealer getting my car serviced I asked about the demise of the defender.
I was told that the reason was the requirements by EU & US for air bags & other safety requirements could not be met by the current design.
They stopped manufacturing them a while ago and are just selling off existing stock.
Yet another victim of the modern culture of "Health & Safety"!

In reply to the above quote, out of all the Defenders built over %60 are still on the road, so it must be reliable, there is not another vehicle that can boast those statistics.

It also gives jobs to British workers.

Rolls Royce over 90% ever made are still in use  but I wouldn't use mine as a shooting truck :cheese:
