Aye but for a extra 50 odd squids you could get a synthetic ultra
Or for the same money or less a hw99s/95 ;) ;)

I've not shot the BSA Lightning, but would heartily recommend the S200. Just does what it says on the tin with minimum fuss. Stock is a little small for me, but then I've got long arms!

I used a pump once. Then I got a dive cylinder . . .

They're not too expensive on ebay. The S200 likes to be filled to about 160 bar, so a 207bar cylinder is fine . . . I used a 207 9 litre ex Fire Brigade cylinder, which gave me plenty of fills. Bigger volumes and higher pressures obviously give you more fills and I'm sure there are some calculators out there.
If you're buying 2nd-hand, make sure you know whether the cylinder is 'in-test' or not. Expect to pay about £30 to have a cylinder tested if it needs it: you won't be able to get it filled without a test certificate.
As well as the cylinder you'll need the filling loop . . . either yoke type or DIN, depending on the valve on your cylinder.

Anyway and most of all, enjoy the rifle!

I bought the s200 from Sunderland scuba center with a compact bsa scope, cost 370 all in which is a bargain as an rfd in Darlington wanted 300 second hand, I love the rifle, quality is top notch, got a .177 as I'm a bit of a convert to the smaller fast caliber. I had no idea the air cylinder was removable!! Also I like to s200s pedigree that being CZ as they make some of my favorite guns

BSA scorpion is a very good and accurate air rifle, but if you have the money go for a Daystate Air Ranger, hands down best air rifle I ever bought, and you will never need to buy another air rifle. I would recomend one of the higher priced Daystates like the Air Wolf, MK4, or Panther, but I don't believe in rifles that need to be but on charge, gun powder or just high pressure air all the way!

Ah ha! Didn't realise there was a second page   , never even shot an Air Arms so couldn't comment, but the people who have shot them swear by them, so that many people can't be wrong!.

For the same price as a hand pump or less you can buy a full charging kit from blackpool air rifles ;) ;) £140 for a 3litre 300 bar tank and fill rig or £200 for a 7 litre.
I have one and they are brilliant for the price as well as being easy to carry :) :)

For the avoidance of doubt, there is no such thing as "American English". There is the English language and there are mistakes.
