For serious rifles, i.e. the 1000ft/lb Stalker Puma .50 etc... Teflon lubes i.e. alox lube, are essential to help reduce barrel leading,(but even then a pull through is required every 3 shots). But for .177 and .22 up to 30ft/lb it's a gimmick.
Besides which, I think you'd be hard pushed convincing your firearms liaison officer that you had a valid reason for owning a .50 air rifle that could bring down a buffalo. :grin: :thup:
