Titan XS Mainspring

Postby plugg » Sun Jun 23, 2013 7:08 pm

Guys,

Im getting an old Diana Model 27 (the Milbro version) spring powered air rifle (in .22) for skelping ferals in the sheds from a gentleman and member of this Forum.

The gun has been chrono'd at 5.5ft/lbs using average weight pellets. Im thinking about sticking a Titan XS mainspring into it to bring it up to legal limit.

A couple of questions...

Anyone any experience of the Titan XS?
Will it take a sub 12 into FAC levels?

An additional question...
Am I better to ask for a slot for FAC air now incase after insertion of the Titan it does indeed take the power over the legal limit?

Any other info would be greatly received :)

I very much doubt the XS spring will take it anywhere near the limit - would need a lot more work. As it is 6ft/lbs is PLENTY for ferals at 'barn distances'. We used to clear them with BSA Scorpions and Crosman pump up's easy!

I agree with Dave - Remember that wee black Hatsan rifle? That was about the same power and downed pigeons easily from 20ft or so.

Pellet placement is more important.

Plus, you won't blow holes in tin roofs!
