' I have read the rules'

Hi Leadpig, thanks for the reply.
I'm keen to keep the weight down down, but a fixed one is best as I don't want to carry it separately, so I suppose light weight fixed.

Cost... I can luckily afford a very good quality if I need too but if the is a reasonable priced one that will do the same job then i'll go for it, but I tend to go with the fact that if your going to spend hundreds on a gun you might as well go the whole hog and go for a good quality one that will last.
Now i'm back to shooting it will be a long term thing

something 9"/13" then should do nicely
harris is industry standard, i would recommend notched legs with swivel base

if you feeling flush

forgot to add, if its for range use/benchrest 6"/9" is the norm
9/13 is for field use
6/9 is normally to small to see over grass ect
9/13 is to tall for benchrest

' I have read the rules'

Thanks leadpig, Ive had a good look at them both and the harris 9" / 13" one looks the job for me. The tacfiresystems one looks like it should be on the underneath of a machine gun, class though!

thanks for the advice. Great forum on here, ive been reading a few great posts

thanks again, Dai

I second your choice Leadpig, 6-13 harris swivel perfect choice, I have one which I use on all my rifles fits in the gunbag attached to the rifle, except the 22-250 remmy with the mod on the end.

Well made too, get the podloc and replace the nut makes the swivel easier to use

Thanks Mike,
I haven't quite sussed out how to fit it to the rifle yet, I've ordered it and I should have one Thursday. I have a inset rail beneath my 410 tdr but I don't know if the harris fits directly on or if I have to buy an adaptor for it!
Cheers Dai

Just an update on the bipod; Harris 9-13 swivel is brilliant, solid, well made and looks the business so thanks all for the tips. Glad i spent the money on it.

I had to get a 'Harris number 6 adapter to fit it to the TDR, a little bit fiddly getting the bipod on and off but after some practice it’s breeze.

Thanks Dai

Glad to hear it works, they are a good bit of kit.

Invest a bit more and get the pod-loc, it makes adjusting it a lot less hassle if out hunting bunnies or shooting on uneven ground.

See link below

Good to see you back Buddy, hope the break went well.

You won't regret the pod-loc use it as per the video and you will do well with it.

The guy in the video gives good advice.
