Ooooopps.. maybe??

Postby Tommo » Thu May 15, 2014 7:33 pm

Just been plinking with the Gamo air rifle in the garden. 6" circle target on white A4 clipped to a galvanised incinerator and +/- 18 yards away. Five shots later the group is reasonable (for iron sights..) but there are HOLES in the incinerator made by the .22 Accupells. Not having access to a chrono is it likely that, at that range and with those pellets, the Gamo is over the 12ftlbs..??? It's been a long time since I seriously shot air guns - I got the Gamo of Robbie to whack pigeons in the church tower so it's not used on a regular basis, only as and when.

I'll see if I can get some pics sorted

I wouldn`t worry about that tommo, but to to ease your power fears I`d still chrono the gun if you can put your hands on one.
a cheap chrombo will do the job but couldn`t you use the rifle club chrony or skann

I have a Combro CB625 available if you want to test your rifle.

EDIT: If any of your neighbours complain to the Police about your garden shooting, the Police are most likely to visit you! If your gun is seized, it will be tested, and if it found to be producing over 12fpe, you kiss goodbye to your FAC [and have a criminal conviction]!!!
