question regarding air pistol power

am i right in thinking that if an air pistol exceeds 6fpe it becomes section 5 rather than section 1 ?

Correct
It becomes a short firearms I.e less that 600mm overall/less than 300mm barrel and over 6ft lbs energy (or whatever the correct metric measure ment is) and you have a section 5 prohibited firearm.

Hi ZZR100,
If you’re looking for something that powerful I can heartily recommend the Weihrauch HW45, it fires around 5.9ft/lbs and is a beast of a gun. The build quality is superb, but then again you pay for it.
