Hi guys/gals

Im new to the forum, would just like to introduce myself

my name is Nathan, im 32 and just getting into shooting, I recently got an air arms s510 superlite hunter, I don't have great experience in shooting but learning fast.

I have done rabbiting with ferrets in the past many times and also the odd bit of fishing, but have fallen in love with the air rifles, im currently working on gaining a few permissions from local farmers I know and other land owners where I can shoot at targets until I am accurate enough to go out and hunt. I have insurance in place and looking at some local gun clubs for membership.

Like I said im a newbie so always looking for advice

and bare with me if im not 100% understanding of the terminology around the air gun world

Welcome, new to shooting, not from one of the rougher sheffield housing estates then lol. Had a mate a few years back from sheffield when I was in the military, went back to his for the weekend, a real eye opener...... that was in the mid 80's...

lol, well if im truthful im not sure where i am... im in a little village that the government cant decide on, i have a Sheffield postcode, a Bassetlaw phone code and come under Rotherham council, so its rather confusing.

Big thanks for the welcome also guys, im afraid i dont have much to contribute to the chats until i get more experience but i will keep active and help where i can.

there is one thing im struggling to find much info on and thats what type of pellets are best for me, the more i look into this the more i realize how complex it can get with the different weights, shapes and brands, each stating theres is the best for whatever reasons etc.. so if you guys have any suggestions it would be handy

Im using a air arms s510 .22, its sub 12ft/lbs im currently shooting at a range of 30 meters "targets" for now
