Recommend a fac air rifle

Postby rgs101 » Wed Nov 26, 2014 4:23 pm

I have a hw100 in 22 sub 12ftlb

Im now considering an fac air rifle for the bits of land that i think are a bit small for my 17hmr or 22lr

Any recommendation on a good fac air rifle?

I also can decide if it as worth keeping the hw100 as i now have an open ticket

One PCP is pretty much the same as another these days, so it's more a case of what you like the look and feel of. You don't need something that gives 150 shots, or that puts out 100 ft/lbs of muzzle energy - that's why the gods invented rimmies. ;)

Hi

Yes i was thinking something in the 30ftlb range, so it just got a little more useable distance if i need more power then i would take the rimmy

Just some of my land is a little too small for the rimmy and slightly too large for the 12ftlb

I had a FAC daystate Air ranger in 50 ftlb. Good rifle, accurate etc, but way OTT. 30ftlb for a FAC air rifle in .22 cal is all you need and is spot on. I sold mine as the .22 rimmy does everything. If you have a .22 rimmy i personally would not bother TBH. Just use the .22 rimmy with subs, use field craft and field position and use the rimmy wisely. ;)

I have an FAC Career 707 .22 rated at 28lb. This is just right for smaller permissions, or big gardens, using Bisley Magnums. No chance of a ricochet, but having great accuracy and stopping power on rabbits.
