Gamo viper express (air shotgun)

Can anyone give any insight into the legalities of the Gamo Viper Express in the UK

This is a link to the gamo website with details of the model
http://www.gamousa.com/product.aspx?productID=71

Apart from the 18ft/lbs, which would need to be sorted out, which is the legal limit in Spain

Further to my reply in the other thread you cannot have them reduced to below 12ftlbs as the official line is that once they are Section 1 firearms then they stay that way. If it's a smooth bore it will be in Section 2 as a shotgun for which you'll need a Shotgun Certificate.

I think there's more chance of the pope becoming a protestant as there is of seeing one of those in the UK.

Fantastic guns to play with. You can hit a target at 10 yards

At 10 yards, your spread is about an a4 sheet of paper

Ideal for close range ratting

The more common version of the Gamo air shotgun is the synthetic stock version
Mine is the wood stock version

SBS could hit a barn door (an extra large one) at 10 yards with it

A question for Keef

If an air gun has never been in the UK, proofed and deemed Section 1, and has not been classed as a firearm in Spain, then if it is reduced in power and brought into the UK under 12 ft/lbs is it Section 1?

With my luck. if there was an award for most pessimistic man in the UK Id never get nominated....
