Looks like the Theoben rapid will be going FAC ,
Im sure all the Neds will rush out to get certs
the only thing they have achieved is if someone is caught they will get charged with firearms offences
And the rest of us law abiding people get more hassles from licencing depts that are already struggling to keep up
Cheers

Aye, the sudden increase in reported 'firearms' offences will play right into the hands of the antis, too.

why don't we make breathing illegal too
just think of the crime detection rates...it'd be epic
hope all the snp voters are proud of their outcome

It's the thin end of the wedge. The next big step will be to tackle drink driving by banning cars.

is there such a thing as a application form

So let me get this right, you will need an FAC, as SGC and a licence for an air rifle.
The logic that says you can be trusted with a rifle but not an air rifle so you have to apply for something else.

I am not sure you are correct: -
Final para in link: "People who already hold existing firearms or shotgun licences will not require a new certificate until their existing one is due for renewal".
Am I understanding this correctly?

If they hold on to the original proposals then I will be in an interesting position. I used to visit Scotland a few years back, carrying a .17HMR, a .22LR, and a .223 without problem. I will still be able to under the new regime but if I want to take an air rifle I will have to obtain a permit to do so. Oh the brains of the antis.

From
http://basc.org.uk/basc-scotland/airgun ... questions/7. I live in Scotland and already have a Shot Gun Certificate/Firearms Certificate. Do I need to apply for another licence for my air rifle?
Yes. However, those with an existing certificate would not need to apply for an airgun licence until their existing certificate/s expires. When renewing your existing Shot Gun or Firearms Certificate you would then be expected to apply for an airgun licence.
BASC tried to amend the Bill to exempt existing certificate holders but this was not accepted.

Right!, OK! But at least they trust an FAC/SGC holder in the meantime!

Oh, I forgot.
If only one life is saved it will all be worthwhile.
