Postby Gypsy dean » Wed Jun 29, 2016 1:33 pm

Hi gang....I'm waiting for my license to be granted (fingers crossed )I live in Wigan Manchester and I've been told it can take eight months to hear anything. Is this right. ..only thing I'm concerned about is I'm under the doctor for depression. ..not bad at all ...could this mess things up....cheers Dean

Indeed.. your doctor will be contacted by the licencing people, as mine was due to recovering from leukaemia. However with me it was more a case of 'is he physically able to shoot?' rather than a stress or depression related issue. My view is to be totally open and honest with all involved.

Good luck.

If you think Wigan is in Manchester, then you're lost!

All you can do is fill the form in honestly, and take it from there. If you don't declare the depression, and the police find out, then you can kiss goodbye to your FAC application.

You call yourself Gypsy Dean. Do you live in a house/flat, or somewhere else?

Tell them the depression is situational, caused by having to wait eight months for them to do a job that should only take two.
If you don't have to give up your car because other people commit crimes in their cars, why should I have to give up my firearms because other people commit crimes with their firearms?

Anyone know if GMP Firearms are still going through the 11,000 license holders tickets, looking for discrepancies?

Yes I think so. A mate of mine is an RFD with a shop and is making as much from holding guns for people whose licences have been pulled or suspended pending further investigation as he is from selling stuff right now. It's been going ngoni a while now so they must be nearly through.
