Scope

Newbie here, just have a quick question about my scope, I have a Nikko Stirling Mountmaster.
How often should I need to adjust the scope to make sure it stays accurate?
Is there a recommended amount of time such as once a month? or should it be after 3 shooting sessions? or just a general check every now and then when I notice my aim is off?

why would you need to adjust it unless you were knocking nails in with the rifle it's attached to.
if it doesn't hold it's zero it's fooked.

It's always useful to check your zero before every shooting session. Changes in temperature etc can and will affect the zero.

he doesn't say what gun it is but I'll bet my Jacobs it's an air rifle.
that being the case,at his shooting ranges external factors, except wind aren't an issue.

If he's put a NS Mountmaster on anything except an airgun, then he's tighter than I am.

put decent mounts on it, most of the time its shite mounts that are the problem, it always amazes me when you see a 3k gun and scope with £10 mounts on it wtaf goes on in there heads
for reference i use BKL as they draw in from both sides and don't push scope out of aliment but don't break the bank.
also if it is a springer they recoil more and need decent mounts/scope

i bought two of those just recently. both 4x32. one with illuminated reticle.
30 shots on an airsporter mk5 .22 was enough to dismantle the internal gubbins, with a lens element and its mount rattling around inside.
a refund was swiftly followed by the placing in the bin of said junk.
replaced with a Hawke

I only put decent scopes and mounts on my rifles, the ones on my centre fire rifles are Third eye Tactical or as they are know now as Tier 1. They were a few years ago the only scope manufacturer that lapped Every set of mounts/rings they sold, saint that they were over £200 a set.
Another reason I can connect with 400 yard rabbits first shot most of the time

I’ve ordered the FX no limit mounts for my new Impact.

i have two Hawke "fast mount" 4x32, a Nikko-stirling 4x32 binfiller (otherwise known as a "mountmaster"), a Nikko-stirling 3-9x40 silver crown, a Bisley 4x40, a Richter optik 3-9x32 and a Umarex marked 4x32 on my 850 airmagnum. none are expensive but, with the exception of the nakkered-stirling binfiller, all do the job expected of them.

It depends. When I was a newbie, used to use a scope for 200 yards. You know shooting accuracy varies on different scopes. Well, I used to adjust scopes once a week or more but as my experience level has upgraded, checking the accurate adjustment before every session has become my habit.

The higher end Hawke scopes are not bad, however if you are spending that sort of money there are many choices out there.

Quality glass is the best investment in your shooting set up, hence I only use Zeiss Leupold and S&B

Quality mounts are a must too
