Sussex Sabo's?

Are these still around? You remember these were like mini bullets with the little plastic skirt bit that shot out like a shotgun wad?

Havent seen or heard of them for years but did anyone use them? What was the overall verdict? I am guessing not that good or I would still be hearing about them and seeing them used today...........

Thats hilarious - I didnt realise they were from the early 80's! Even the packaging looks dated. I forgot about the pen applicator bit, I guess that means they could only have ever worked in a break barrel right?

Talk about a blast from the past, when you look at them now you can see how they were doomed from the beginning. Who was ever going to use those plastic skirts and the pen in the middle of a field to hunt with?

Having said that, did some of us hunt with them? Anyone out there used these?

Hi! I used them, for a very short time. Not were they only very slow to load, I used to go arround with about 12 of the loading pens filled in my jacket pocket, but I found them to be absolutely use less in the field. If you ever managed to hit anything with them, due to their poor grouping, the bullet section being very small and hard, just passed clean through with no shock power at all, resulting in having to finish off the kill.
If they ever come back, here is one person who will never use them again.
Most of my original box went into the bin.

The sabots were just awful... My HW77k went from ragged hole groups to all over a 12" target!

The actual pellet part was like a mini FMJ bullet.

Don't buy any unless it's strictly from a collecting point of view!

They had a good flat trajectory, and phenominal penetration.
I could put them through a sheet of corrugated iron, out of my Sharp Ace.
Accuracy was pretty good too, ................ for about five shots after I had cleaned all the accumulated plastic out of the rifling from the previous five shots :)
