Anyone shoot HFT/FT?

Postby Photoguy2910 » Sat Apr 19, 2008 10:38 pm

Just wondering if anyone else shoots HFT/FT or is it just hunting and pest control.

I enjoy HFT a bit more than FT these days, just a bit more relaxed but I love getting out and doing the real thing too.

I tried to set up a club - first week 16 guys, 2nd 9 guys, 3rd - 5, 4th on only 4.
Sold my airguns a few weeks later. Shame, I really wanted to help out local shooters :(

My only other experiences are 4 open competitions with the Tayside club. I am not blowing my own trumpet here, but I won them all with a .22 AA S410K

Just goes to show, its not what you shoot but knowing how to shoot it that matters

Shame the club didn't take off, it would have been fun to take trips up your way, used to be a club up there, somewhere over Fettercairn, can't remember exectly or the name of the club but it was a good place.

Used to shoot a bit of HFT. Shot FT once and was disqualified 3 times in the same comp.

If footballers can get more than one red card,i can quite believe that Gary can be disqualified 3 times.

I shot a couple of HFT events, they were fun but slow. The logistics are quite heavy so you can spend hours for just 30 shots but at least there are plenty of air rifle shooters to have a chat with.

Chief marshall was bullying my missus so I went to see what was happening. He jumped in front of me and told me to go back to my peg or I'd be d/q. I told him to **** off. He D/Q me. I chatted to my missus and went to take my shot, ignoring him.

he started again, I went up again, he poked me in the chest, I told him if he did it again I'd lamp him. he D/Q'd me, I went to see my missus, then went back and took another shot.

He started AGAIN, she walked off in tears, I picked up my stuff and started to walk off. He jumped in front of me and told me to get back to the peg. I pushed him into a bush and walked past. he called after me..(guess what) you're disqualifiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiied.

So I was D/Q 3 times before Dave Baines re-instated me and sent the tosser to the far end of the course.

Hi

just got back into air rifle shooting. I have started doing HFT and find it a good place to meet other shooters and get some advice.

Hope to get back into hunting soon. I see this website has a brilliant section for offering and requesting shoots so hopefully I will be able to put my name down and if I get permission I can also offer to other shooters.

Regards john
