Scope lense anti glare idea

Postby Dave 101 » Sat Aug 16, 2008 4:44 pm

I have seen these advertised as the new idea on the block , so I thought about making my own . Most ammo boxes have these plastic bits for holding the bullets . Stand the scope on the plastic and mark round it with a felt tip pen , simply cut around the line with a pair of scissors , then spray matt black , after trimming to size . it will be a click fit , as to weather it works or not it looks cool 8-) Dave Image

I don't think you'll have much luck with that Dave, you need something with depth like a honeycomb and very thin walls so as not to block too much light. I'm working on one now, to fit to my TX200 (when my mate's finished wiping out squirrels with it).

See this link:

Have a look at the photos in the last post.

If you'd like a small piece of this mesh let me know and I'll post you a bit.

BA is quite right. It's a matter of the depth of the honeycomb.

Check this out..

You can see how deep it is. I have one, it's one of the SuperSniper jobbies and works very effectively. OK some people may ask "What the hell do you need an ARD for on a target rifle..?" Well I shoot at Altcar, near Southport, on the coast and most of the ranges face WsW so, from the end of September onwards to the end of March, come 3pm the sun is shining right in your face.. right down your scope.

Believe me the ARD makes shooting in those conditions a joy..

Edit: just looked at your pic again... you might be able to improve on what you have if you pinch a pair of black tights and cut and stretch a piece over each side of the plastic cut-out you have.. Just a thought mind
Happiness is like peeing your pants. Everyone can see it, but only you can feel the warmth...

NRA qualified RCO.. and all-round good egg :)
