BA is quite right. It's a matter of the depth of the honeycomb.

OK some people may ask "What the hell do you need an ARD for on a target rifle..?" Well I shoot at Altcar, near Southport, on the coast and most of the ranges face WsW so, from the end of September onwards to the end of March, come 3pm the sun is shining right in your face.. right down your scope.
Believe me the ARD makes shooting in those conditions a joy..

just looked at your pic again... you might be able to improve on what you have if you pinch a pair of black tights and cut and stretch a piece over each side of the plastic cut-out you have.. Just a thought mind :thup:
