Burris, Bushnell and IIRC Nikon make or made rangefinder combos. I also seem to remember some of the cheaper makers trying to introduce them but I can't remember who.

If I remember correctly the Burriss Eliminator could be programmed with your ammo characteristics, speed, zero etc. and it then took the range and worked out where you should aim and projected a dot for you to use as p.o.a., but cost was about 1500 dollars, if you could get one in the U.S. :thdn:

Anschutz 1517 &1417, Ruger 10-22 22LR

Sako L61 270, CZ 527 .204

only bad thing with these is you cant range anything without pointing the gun at it ;)

Will still have a hand held range finder, its the clever electronics in these scopes once you set it up for your ammo it adjusts your aim point to allow for the distance

aye they been around for a while, the burris was meant to be good but the glass let it down
decent range finding binos and srelock would be more useful to me,but each to their own

Ok guys have put this question on a few forums and the overwhelming #1 answer is get decent scope and a hand held rangefinder ,so gonna go with that
But will prob get a combo when I can afford a seperate set up just to play with

That's the way to go in my opinion.. The scopes with a programmable ret are a waste of time, those with inbuilt laser are too expensive to be worthwhile..

I had a Nikon about 5 or 6 years ago.
didn`t keep it long better off with my leupold rangefinder and separate scope
as has been said the biggest drawback is having to point the firearm at the target to range it :thdn:
