Which brands are considered good and which to avoid?

I tend to prefer what I term the big five, S+B,Zeiss,Leupold,Swarovski and Nightforce.
Though several others are good as well ie IOR and Nikon

my mate bought an IOR last weekend not sure what model but he said it was the dogs danglies. but as said above have a look through all the scopes you can and decide which one YOU like best, because at the end of the day opinions are like arseholes, everybody has one.
