Night shooting

Postby Slghants » Thu Mar 17, 2016 10:50 pm

Hi all.

I've not done any night shooting before as still trying to gain my first perm, but want to make sure I have what I need ready for when I get a signature on the dotted line...

I bought a T6 gun lamp a couple of weeks ago, gives plenty of light for my Walther Rotex... Over 100m but I've taken a little advice and ordered some coloured filters to cover it so as not to scare off the rats and bunnies.

I don't have the money for a full NV kit at the moment so will what I've got do the trick for now and can anyone offer any tips like what colour to use, distance to keep and any other techniques please?

Thanks

Same as day shooting really, keep downwind, stealth and know where your quarry is likely to be. If it's rabbits, they'll likely run when the lamp hits them then stop after 30 yards or so... be ready for it!

Where are you based? I'll happily take you out if you're around my spot :)
