Cannot, for the life of me, get my scope focused

Postby ADAMC » Sun Jul 16, 2017 8:00 pm

Hello everyone,

As you have already guessed my scope just seems to never be in focus, I’ve tried playing with the magnification and successfully got rid of the black circles and know how to do this. However the crosshair is never in focus, I have tried to adjust the closer side of the scope but this seems to bring the black circles back and does nothing to the focus. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Did you adjust the rear lens housing. The rear lens housing has a locking ring. Back off on the locking ring and aim the scope skyward at the clouds. Turn the back back lens housing until the crosshairs are sharp and set the locking ring. That's how you set the diopter. It's an important adjustment for my old eyes.
The faster I go, the older I get.

When adjusting the diopter don't look continuously through the scope, but look and adjust, keep repeating until the cross hair is in focus immediately you look through the scope.
If you keep looking through the scope while adjusting your eyes will try and compensate and you will never get a clear picture.
Do this with the scope off the rifle, once set you may then mount it to the rifle making sure you have the eye relief set so when the rifle is comfortably mounted to the shoulder you have a full view without any black circles or restricted field of view.
