Can anyone give me any advise on what scope to fit on a .260 i am thinking of buying for deer stalking, budget of about £500.

I'd look at a fixed mag Meopta, Doctor, Swaro, S&B, Zeiss etc..

Kev got a nice 8X56 s&b for well within that price second hand. In perfect condition.

Robbies got it nailed, fixed like a 7 x 50 in a good brand name and you will not be dissapointed.

It is a 6x42 with 30mm tube.
It would be useless for longer range fox or vermin shooting, but for deer stalking, I cant think of a better scope at any price.
