Compliments of The Season, Steve!

As a matter of interest, what's your charge per 100 cases, excluding postage etc.

I do not need any doing as yet, but may do in the future.

Re: Brass annealing.

I have been reloading for some time, mainly 223Rem 300Win mag and 45/70

My 223 cases have been used 5 times now and only found 1 out of about 500 that needed trimming, so it went in the brass bin at the club,

The next trip to the range with the club I was handed 50 cases that had just been fired, my 223 fires clover leaf groups and sub MOA The 300wm cases look as good as new

My question is, Is it really worth annealing cases, is it only worth doing it to cases that are expensive to replace what are positive benefits?

Thanks for any info

Hiya Mike,

IT really depends what you are after. I never mix my brass, use other peoples mixed brass or use pick ups at the range. You can achieve good 100 yard groups and results with poor quality components and poor loads. The real indicator is testing at range, exstream spread and standard deviation. If you shooting sub 250 yard vermin then all of the above does not matter, of if your happy with "ok" performance on paper targets and on steel gongs then again the above does not matter.

The main reason I anneal my cases is not just to make the cases last longer, it is but, its more to achieve consistent neck tension on the bullet use of annealing. For the performance im looking for in all my rifles is nothing but perfection and precision, i dont want to be let down by my kit, if i miss my target then i know its only me to blame.

With a precision rifle with precision loads this is some of the results im achieving with my set up, even in the wind!

Hope this answers your question Mike

Thanks for the info Steve, nice shooting

I don't use range pick ups either, you just don't know what has happened to it in the past. I purchase the ammo for the club so all the brass I get back has only been once fired and I know what make it is.(223)

My accuracy international 300wm gives the best results for me with an average group of 3 inch at 600 yards.

Nice video

Hi Steve

I couldn't resist it and I am going for a an annealing machine.

My idea is to charge a sum of money (yet to be determined) that gives 50% to the club and pays for the gas + a small contribution to the maintenance of the machine.

Many sincere thanks for your offer.
