Baikal replacement stock

Postby martin444 » Sat Apr 09, 2016 12:15 pm

I have a baikal 27e 1c, single trigger o/u in great condition, but with a split stock (1st shotgun owned so want to keep), and have been looking for a replacement/second hand stock. I have searched the internet, including gun shops in uk, baikal suppliers and local gun shops in Bristol with zero successs.

Any ideas/suggestions would be appreciated in locating a replacement stock,

Thanks Martin

Apologies if this seems like a dumb answer but why not get it repaired? It would be cheaper than a new stock.
There a lot of gunsmiths around who can get this done for you, I dropped one of my shotgun and split the stock, the repair is almost invisible.

Tried local gunsmiths in Bristol, wouldn't touch the repair, stock is split top and bottom. I have left a message for a gunsmitn in bath, waiting for a reply, thought a replacement would be easier to find !!

I know a guy round here (North Yorkshire) who can fix most stuff, not sure how much it would cost though.
Maybe post a photo and I'll ask, you could just send the stock.

Thanks for your reply,
I am waiting for a local gun shop to check their scrapped guns for a suitable stock, and hope for a positive result. I will take photos and post later of the damage. It looks bad to me but im not a gunsmith. The question is price, if they find a stock it would be supplied and fitted for under £100, how much was your repair ??

It wasn'r much, maybe £40 something like that anyway. I finished off with several coats of oil etc with plenty of elbow grease rubbing it in and polishing it!

The sqire, after contacting a number of local gunsmiths have found one, who is happy to attempt a repair on the stock on a no fix no fee arrangement for £55 if fixed !! Looks like I may be using the baikal again soon (getting on really well with my Winchester though, so who knows thanks Martin)
