Thomas Bland Dating

Postby Douglas » Fri Dec 02, 2016 8:53 pm

Hi, I have recently gotten into sxs guns after years of everyone telling me they were rubbish and only old men shot them... That's like saying vintage cars are rubbish just because they have character... In any case my first sxs is a Thomas Bland Boxlock SN 8847 and I love it, very lively and a fabulous handling gun... In any case I a very keen to determine the year of the gun and I have contacted Glenn at Woodcock Hill wh have all of the Bland records. After too-ing and fro-ing since September he says it must be from the 1890s but the rib has the 4 - 6 William IV Street address on it which according to his own website Bland didn't move to until 1919 and he has a hole in his records which this gun must fall into... So, I am reaching out for any help you can give me.

Cheers,

- Douglas
